It was August of 2001 when MuktoChinta had begun its journey in the cyber world. MuktoChinta is a Bangla word with its close similarity with Hindi and other Sanskrit based languages that can be found in Indian sub-continent and among the immigrant population throughout the world. "Mukto" means "free" (free from fear and prejudices,
embracing
freedom and liberty), and "Chinta" means thinking or thoughts and other facets of creative literature could be shared among friends from around the world. Perhaps it was the increasingly complex world of ours with its violence, wars, terrorisms, natural disasters, and out of bound corruptions in almost every segment of social structures provided impetus for learning this strange world of ours, and at the same time there were efforts in depicting a peaceful earth that can still be achievable. There are no commercial interests involved in this journey, since from the beginning it was dawn to us that if that narrow route were taken, we could become bounded by disastrous self-interests, defeating the purpose of MuktoChinta. MuktoChinta is for the progressive world community. It is not associated with any ideologies or hidden political agenda, conservative or liberal, theism or atheism since we do believe that our world cannot be represented by the oversimplified black and white scenarios, nor can it be described with the new flourished doctrine of our time, "either you are with us or you are with the ..." Plainly speaking, we are with the truth and freedom, and hope to present the world as it is, without fear and prejudice. Over time, we wish to expand MuktoChinta.com, adding
